There will also be a book where you can record whatever you find. Last year we recorded a total of 52 species including 24 different species of wildflowers, 10 of birds, one mammal and one reptile

St Augustine of Canterbury
Posted: Tue, 26 May, 2026 (3 weeks ago) - by David
Today is the feast day of St Augustine. He was sent in 597 AD by Pope Gregory I the Great to lead an unprecedented mission of about 40 monks to England, where Christianity had yet to take hold in many parts of the country. He founded Christ Church, Canterbury, as his cathedral and became England’s first Archbishop of Canterbury. We tend to associate the arrival of Christianity in Britain with Augustine, but in fact Christianity arrived long before then with Roman artisans and traders in Britain spreading the story of Jesus.
